When movie Thugs Of Hindostan was released, it was expected to be an epic movie, especially with the stellar cast that it had. Unfortunately the film failed to take off, and it had nosedived at the box office after it earned a whopping Rs 52.25 crore on the first day of its release in theatres. A number of reasons were cited for the movie’s failure, which led to actor Aamir Khan, who had a pivotal role in it, coming forward and taking responsibility for it not doing well.
Aside from Aamir, the movie also had Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh in pivotal roles, and though not much has been said, Katrina has in an interview spoken about the failure and the disappointment, which according to her, is sort of a reality check.
“I know Aamir has spoken on the matter and it has really hurt deeply and personally. Disappointment is always good as it wakes you up little bit again. In case of Thugs.. it was not for lack of trying, something just went wrong in case of Thugs of Hindostan. You need to have guts and urge to try things and be prepared it may or may not work,” Katrina said.
Thugs Of Hindostan, which stars Aamir as Firangi, Amitabh as Khudabaksh, Fatima as Zafira, and Katrina as Suraiyya, was produced on an estimated budget of Rs 300 crore, making it one of the most expensive movies of Bollywood.
Disappointment for Thugs Of Hindostan aside, Katrina is, as of now, looking forward to the release of her next movie Zero, in which she plays a troubled movie star, Babita. The movie, which also stars actors Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma, is set to release on December 21.
