Actress Katrina Kaif says that her bond with Alia Bhatt is still intact despite the latter dating her ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor. The actress, in her latest interview, has spilled the beans on her equation with Alia, what changed after the breakup with Ranbir, and her bond with Salman Khan‘s family.

While talking about how she met Alia, Katrina mentioned her friends’ group which had Ayaan Mukerji, Karan Johar, and Ranbir Kapoor as members. However, she paused for a bit and skipped taking Ranbir’s name. When asked how she started gelling well with Alia, Katrina revealed to Filmfare, “Alia was a part of our friend circle – of Ayaan, me and our group. We all started a nice, warm equation. When she started to train with Yasmin, that’s when we really started seeing each other mother and I would say ‘come train with me’.”

She went on to talk about how she maintains her equation with Alia despite knowing that she shares her past with the actress. Katrina said, “Honestly, there are a few days when I analyse the situation. I want to respond to it from not the pre-conceived notions that we set in our heads that ‘if someone does this, we should respond like that.’ When I thought about it I felt like ‘who she was dating is not relevant with the equation that I share with her. So, why should that change?”

The actress, who has worked with Ranbir in three films – Rajneeti, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and Jagga Jasoos, mentioned that she felt lost in her relationship with him. When asked about what are the ‘dos and don’ts in a relationship’, Katrina said, “The most important thing I believe is to maintain your sense of individuality. You have to still have the sense of who you are apart from your partner… I think, completely (that she lost herself in the relationship).

The actress, whose next is Bharat with Salman Khan, also revealed that she shares a beautiful bond with Salman’s family, especially with her sisters. She said it’s something very warm and affectionate and they are all very dear to her and her family.
