Kedarnath, featuring actors Sara Ali Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput has released and it is doing a decent business at the box office. The film that opened to Rs 7.25 cr has witnessed growth on its second day. Kedarnath minted Rs 9.75 crore on Saturday and the total collection now stands at Rs 17 crore. The figures were shared by trade analyst Taran Adarsh on social media.
Taran took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and wrote, “#Kedarnath gathers momentum on Day 2… Growth on Day 2 [vis-à-vis Day 1]: 34.48%… Should witness an upward trend on Day 3 [Sun] as well… Fri 7.25 cr, Sat 9.75 cr. Total: ₹ 17 cr. India biz.”

The numbers are expected to grow in coming days. The movie is fighting the box office battle with Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0. The Hindi version of this mega-budget movie has minted Rs 154.75 crore till now.
Kedarnath is a love story of a Hindu girl and a Muslim boy set in the backdrop of the devastating 2013 Uttarakhand flood. It marks Sara’s Bollywood debut. The lady is being praised for her performance and people are liking her chemistry with Sushant. The movie is directed by Abhishek Kapoor and is bankrolled by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP and Abhishek Kapoor’s Guy In the Sky Pictures.
On a related note, Sara will next be seen in Ranveer Singh starrer Simmba. The film is directed by Rohit Shetty and bankrolled by Dharma Productions. On the other hand, the teaser of Sushant’s upcoming film, Sonchiraiya, was released and it received positive response from the cinema lovers. The film is all set to hit the screens on February 8. He will also be seen in the remake of The Fault in Our Stars, titled Kizie Aur Manny.
