Actors Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra starrer Kesari has neared Rs 130 crore at the domestic Box Office. The film witnessed a good performance in its second weekend and has collected a total of Rs 125.01 crore so far. In its second weekend itself, it managed to rake in Rs 19.15 crore with Friday getting Rs 4.45 crore, Saturday bringing Rs 6.45 crore and Sunday garnering Rs 8.25 crore. The film earned Rs 105.86 crore in its first week, which is lesser than expected considering it has been performing thunderously in the northern belt of the country.

Kesari is now expected to emerge as the highest grossing film for Akshay after 2.0, that was a bilingual film. This means that the Anurag Singh directorial will beat the collection of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha to be seen as the biggest domestic Box Office winner for Khiladi.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the latest collection details of Kesari. He wrote, “#Kesari attracts abundant footfalls in Weekend 2… Should comfortably cross *lifetime biz* of #ToiletEPK and emerge Akshay Kumar’s highest grossing film, after #2Point0 [#Hindi]… [Week 2] Fri 4.45 cr, Sat 6.45 cr, Sun 8.25 cr. Total: ₹ 125.01 cr. India biz.” (sic)

Adarsh also broke the entire business of the film into benchmarks and tweeted: “#Kesari biz at a glance…
Week 1: ₹ 105.86 cr [8 days]
Weekend 2: ₹ 19.15 cr
Total: ₹ 125.01 cr
Biz has stabilised outside North India [which is doing excellent biz from Day 1]… Should touch/cross ₹ 150 cr, in view of the current trending. India biz.” (sic)

Kesari is based on the iconic Battle of Saragarhi which was fought between 21 Sikh soldiers under the British army and 10,000 Afghan troopers. The battle is considered as one of the bravest last stands in world history. In fact, the Battle of Saragarhi is believed to be the third epic battle ever fought across the world. The film was released on March 21 with an extended opening weekend.
