Actor Akshay Kumar has gone all out to make his movie Kesari, which is about the Battle of Saragarhi, a big success, and it is pretty much evident from the first song that has just been released. The song Sanu Kehndi, which has already got a good number of views, has a very lively beat and it features Akshay and his battalion of 20 Sikh soldiers dancing their hearts out.
Akshay plays Havildar Ishar Singh, who was the head of the battalion that fought against 10,000 Afghan and Orakzai tribesmen in the September 12, 1897 Battle of Saragarhi.
The newly released song started off with one of the men playing a very sad tune, and the rest of the men jumping in to turn it into a more lively one. As they sang they get Akshay to join it, and he performs and even livelier jig. The foot-stomping song, which was sung by Romy and Brijesh Sandilya, with lyrics by Kumaar, and music by Tanishk Bagchi, showed the bravery, valour, and camaraderie of the men.
The trailer, which had been released on February 20, 2019 by Dharma Productions, showed the saffron-clad warriors fighting valiantly against all odds and changing the meaning of bravery.
The movie, which also stars Parineeti Chopra in the lead role, is directed by Anurag Singh, written by Girish Kohli and Anurag, and produced by Karan Johar, Aruna Bhatia, Hiroo Yash Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Sunir Khetarpal. It is set to be released on March 21, 2019.
