Actors Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon starrer Luka Chuppi has raked in a total of Rs 32.13 crore at the Box Office. The film performed well on Sunday, March 4, and collected Rs 14.04 crore, which is bigger than what it collected on its opening day. The film earned Rs 8.01 crore on Friday and Rs 10.08 crore on Saturday. The increase in its collection shows that Luka Chuppi has benefited greatly from the positive word-of-mouth around it. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the film is a romantic comedy and takes a dig at marriage and conventional relationship set-up.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the latest Box Office figures of Luka Chuppi on Twitter and wrote, “#LukaChuppi emerges a winner… Shows superb growth on Day 2 and 3… Biz doubles at many screens on Day 3… Has ₹ 30 cr+ weekend… Will remain strong today due to partial holiday [#Mahashivratri]… Fri 8.01 cr, Sat 10.08 cr, Sun 14.04 cr. Total: ₹ 32.13 cr. India biz.” (sic)

The film has also emerged as the top fifth film of the year in terms of opening weekend Box Office collection. The other positions are held in order by Gully Boy, Total Dhamaal, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and Uri: The Surgical Strike.

Luka Chuppi‘s collection are also significant because it got released without an extra push of a holiday-film or a terrific star power. Both Kartik and Kriti are two of the loved young stars of B’town and the appeal of the film is quite youthful. Luka Chuppi has also been promoted well and tells a story of a small town couple who tries to fool their families by telling them that they eloped and got married. The trailer of the film also got widely appreciated for its middle-class relatability. In fact, that’s the reason why Kriti chose to work in the film.

The actress paid a surprise visit to the audience watching the film at a theatre in Mumbai and interacted with the media outside. In her brief conversation, she shared that she loves when she realises that her character has resonated with real people. She added that the fact that she’s able to relate with her audience is something that matters to her the most.
