Actor and dancer Manju Warrier’s father, TV Madhavan Warrier, passed away yesterday at around 3 pm at their residence in Pullu, Thrissur. As reported by Times of India, his wife Girija Warrier, children Madhu Warrier and Manju Warrier, daughter-in-law Anu and grandchild Aavani were present at the time of his demise. It has also been reported that Manju’s ex-husband Dileep and daughter Meenakshi turned up to show respect. Reports say that Dileep and Meenakshi remained at Manju’s residence for about an hour. Just like Manju’s mother, her father was also diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing treatment for a very long time.

Her father worked as an accountant in a private company and tried to fulfil all his children’s desires despite the financial difficulties. In an interview to Mathrubhumi in 2017, Manju talked about how her father and how he has supported her throughout her dancing career. “My father lent money and joined chit funds to get me schooled. He would start saving money a lot ahead of the beginning of next academic year. When their company provided train fare, he saved it and travelled by bus. My mother’s gold ornaments were mortgaged at that time. I happened to know all about this only very late. Father and mother had a ring to wear only recently. We had at least a rented house to stay then.”
