After the comments made by Rani Mukerji about the Me Too movement, actress Neha Dhupia has come out and backed her stance in a recent interview with a leading news organisation. When Rani said, “I think as a woman you have to be that powerful within yourself, you have to believe that you’re so powerful that if you ever come into a situation like that you have the courage to say ‘back off.’ I think you have to have the courage to be able to protect yourself,” adding, “you have to take responsibility of your own self,” the actress was severely trolled on social media. Backing her claim, Neha feels that women should stick up for themselves and be strong enough to say back off.
Talking to Hindustan Times in a recent interview, Neha said, “That is extremely legitimate that women should be strong enough to say back off. I don’t think that breed of men should exist who actually want to exploit women. Women shouldn’t be brought to the point of saying back off. That shouldn’t exist in our culture or our society.”
Giving an insight into her whirlwind marriage last year, that was planned in just two days, the actress said, “Sometimes, the best things happen in life so quickly but I don’t regret it. If I was given even six months or a year to prep for my wedding, I would have had a small wedding, would get married in baby pink and would do an Anand Karaj and would want to get married to Angad again. There is nothing else that I want.”
2018 was an eventful year for actor-host Neha Dhupia, who tied the knot with actor Angad Bedi and welcomed their baby girl Mehr in November. The actress was in Delhi recently for Roadies’ Real Heroes auditions since she is now back as a gang leader on the adventure reality show.
Being the winner of the show twice, Neha is referred to as the ‘boss lady’ by her fellow ‘gang leaders’ such as rapper Raftaar and Prince Narula.
