Deepika Padukone is a star in every sense of that word. She is talented, gorgeous and every bit of an amazing person. Apart from being the Box Office queen, Deepika is also someone who is admired by many for her stance on various issues, for not shying away from talking about things that matter and for just being herself wherever she goes. However, she’s not the same dazzling superstar at her home though. As revealed by her father, Prakash Padukone, in a candid interview with India Today, Deepika is treated as normal as any other girl at her place. She does her own bed and clean dishes, basically, she participates in the household chores and also in family decisions like Deepika Padukone and not The Deepika Padukone.
The channel has featured Deepika and her father in a special interview with Rajdeep Sardesai. In a few seconds teaser promo of the interview, the father-daughter duo can be seen answering a fun question. Desai asks Deepika how much of a reigning star status does she enjoy at her place. The actress passes the question to her father who gives a rather elaborate answer. He says, “You can ask anybody who visits us on a daily basis. Absolutely Not (she is not the star at home). If somebody comes then they’ll have to remind us that she is a star otherwise we are like normal people. So, there are absolutely no tantrums, she’s never treated like a star. She doesn’t expect it and we won’t do that also”.

Deepika shares quite an adorable chemistry with her father, who’s a former ace badminton player. She won hearts with her acceptance speech during the 2016 Filmfare Awards when she won the Best Actress trophy for her performance in Shoojit Sircar’s Piku. The actress read out a letter written by her father to her on the stage and made everybody emotional, along with herself. One of the important messages that the letter gave out resonates with what Mr Paduokone revealed about Deepika in the promo. The letter read him telling Deepika, “If you love what you do, nothing else matters, not even awards. Follow your heart and live your dream. You are our daughter and then an actress”.
Well, it’s always lovely to see such emotional and strong bonds on-screen!
