Pulwama Attack: Producer Dinesh Vijan Won't Release Kartik Aaryan-Kriti Sanon Starrer Luka Chuppi in Pakistan, Cancels Contract With Distributor

As the country gets together to support the victims of Pulwama terror attack, the film industry has pulled back from associating any ties with Pakistan in order to condemn the attack. As per recent news, producer Dinesh Vijan will not release Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon starrer Luka Chuppi and Diljit Dosanjh starrer Arjun Patiala in Pakistan.

Sharing the news on his social media handle, film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, “Producer Dinesh Vijan [Maddock Films] cancels contract with #Pakistan distributor… Won’t release #LukaChuppi and #ArjunPatiala in #Pakistan. #PulwamaAttack #PulwamaTerrorAttacks” (sic).

While Luka Chuppi, directed by debutant Laxman Utekar, is slated to hit the screens on March 1, Arjun Patiala is a romantic comedy directed by Rohit Jugraj and slated to release on May 3 in India.

Recently, the team of Total Dhamaal decided to not release the film in Pakistan and actor Ajay Devgn announced the same on social media a day before. He took to Twitter to write, “In light of the current situation the team of Total Dhamaal has decided to not release the film in Pakistan” (sic).

Earlier, Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series had pulled down all the songs from their YouTube channel that were sung by Pakistani singers after Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), on Saturday, asked all the music companies to stop working with Pakistani artists. Talking to PTI, Amey Khopkar, Head of Raj Thackeray‘s MNS Chitrapat Sena, said, “We have verbally communicated to Indian music companies like T-Series, Sony Music, Venus, Tips Music etc to not work with Pakistani singers. These companies should stop it immediately or we will take action in our own style.”
