As the martyred jawans, killed in the recent unfortunate suicide bombing at Pulwama, were laid to rest with full state honours on Saturday, the nation outcries with revenge. As people pour their grief out over the worst ever deadliest terror attack, Uri: The Surgical Strike actor, Vicky Kaushal described the episode as “sad” while singer Asha Bhosle called it a “cancer” and actor Ayushmann Khurrana expressed his solidarity with the victims’ families through a poem he penned on Twitter.

“It is a great loss of human lives. If in any possible way, we can support the family of martyrs, it would be a great contribution from our end, as a society. The whole incident should not be forgiven and forgotten,” IANS quoted Vicky saying on Saturday. “It feels like a personal loss. A strong befitting answer must be given to terrorism. As a nation, we should come together and give the required support to the families of the martyrs, emotionally and financially. Our prayers are with them,” ANI quoted Vicky.

As the film fraternity came together to express their anger and grief over the extremely heartbreaking and shocking incident, actress Kubra Sait said, “I will not support terrorism in any way especially when terrorism is faked in the mask of faith. I’m not somebody who agrees to this. I think its high time that humans started loving each other with kindness with respect and just with love.”

Taking to her Twitter handle, Asha Bhosle condemned the incident as she wrote, “Indian blood has been spilled on Indian soil. It’s a cancer that needs to be removed permanently !” (sic).

Known for putting forth emotions best through his words, singer-actor Ayushmann Khurrana took to his Twitter handle and posted a poem carrying painful words, that expressed the current feelings of the nation for the families of the army men. Dedicating the poem to them, Ayushmann’s lines carried the reality of those who fight at border to secure peace of not just their families but also of all citizens and eventually give up their lives trying to safeguard those back home while their mothers keep a life long fast from their presence and their children reassure their own selves of their father’s presence still lingering.

Meanwhile, a shutdown was observed in parts of the Kashmir valley. Shopkeepers in Lal Chowk, Maisuma, Residency Road and other adjoining areas downed their shutters at 3 pm in response to a shutdown called by trade bodies of the Valley. The trade bodies have also called for Kashmir bandh on Sunday. The bandh call was issued by the Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Forum, Kashmir Economic Alliance and other trade bodies of the Valley.

Bollywood celebrities like Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Anupam Kher, Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra and Karan Johar among others have reacted strongly to the Pulwama attack that happened on Thursday, February 14.
