The terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district that left 49 CRPF jawans dead has been termed as the worst ever attack in the state. The senseless killing has left the nation in mourning with a huge number of Bollywood celebrities taking to social media to condemn the dastardly act. Among the stars was veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan, who after condemning the attack on Twitter, will now, as per reports, be donating Rs 5 lakh to each of the families of the martyred jawans.

According to Times Now, Big B, who has earlier also donated to families of soldiers who were martyred while defending the country, is currently trying to get in touch with government officials to figure out how the money will be distributed and to ensure it reaches the families.

“Yes Mr Bachchan will be giving Rs 5 Lakh to each of the martyr’s families and is currently finding out the correct process to do so,” Times Now quoted Big B’s spokesperson as saying.

Someone had tweeted out that Amitabh would be making the donation and it would amount to Rs 2 crore. The megastar answered back that since the number of deceased has gone up he would be contributing for 50.

The terror attack which had taken place on February 14 had been carried out by the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed, whose chief, Masood Azhar, roams freely in Pakistan and is yet to be designated a global terrorist.

Work wise, Amitabh is gearing up for the release of his movie Badla, which is a crime thriller directed by Sujoy Ghosh, and which will also star Taapsee Pannu. the film, which is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment in association with Azure Entertainment, is slated to release on March 8, 2019.
