Salman Khan is the undisputed ruler at the Box Office by Remo D’Souza, Race 3 has been garnering poor reviews but that has not hindered its unprecedented growth at the Box Office on the first day itself. Salman Khan has dethroned, Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani’s Baaghi 2 with Race 3, making it the highest opener of the year so far. On Day 1, the film raked in Rs 29.17 crore. This is the third-highest opening Salman Khan film on Eid, after Ali Abbas Zafar’s Sultan (Rs 36.54 crore) and Kabir Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger (Rs 32.93 crore).

Senior film critic and trade analyst, Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the numbers. He wrote,
“#Race3 hits the ball out of the park on Day 2 [Sat]… #Eid festivities give MASSIVE BOOST to its biz… Day 3 [Sun] should score BIG NUMBERS yet again… ₹ 100 cr+ weekend on the cards… Fri 29.17 cr, Sat 38.14 cr. Total: ₹ 67.31 cr. India biz.” In two days, the action thriller has already raked in Rs 67.31 crore. Race 3 was expected to rake in big moolah as it’s an Eid release that too with Salman Khan in the lead. It’s an annual ritual to watch a Salman Khan release on Eid and his fans actually look forward to it. The numbers are only expected to rise in the coming days.

Although critics have bashed the film for its lack of coherent plot and logic, the sincere Sallu Bhai fans are making sure that their favourite actor is not left disappointed. Race 3 now has a two-week window to earn as much moolah as it can ahead of the next big Bollywood release, ie Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanju.
