India is celebrating its 70th Republic Day today and on this occasion, many Bollywood celebs gave best wishes to their fans on social media. From Salman Khan to Vicky Kaushal, some prominent faces of the silver screen posted their pictures with the Indian National Flag to celebrate the day. Salman, who will be seen playing the role of a patriot in his upcoming film Bharat, shared his picture from the movie. In it, he can be seen dressed as the Navy officer.
Salman took to the social networking site Instagram and wrote, “#Bharat wishes everyone a happy Republic Day… Jai Hind..@Bharat_thefilm.”
Vicky beamed with happiness as he shared his picture. Interestingly, his last film sang the valour of the Indian Army. Uri was based on the surgical strike that took place in 2016. The movie entered the coveted Rs 100 crore club.

India got its independence on 15 August 1947. Later, the drafting committee was appointed which was chaired by Dr B R Ambedkar on 28 August 1947 and on 26 November 1949, the constitution was adopted.
Today, the celebrations took place in New Delhi. The chief guest for this year’s Republic Day parade was President of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa. The event was attended many leaders including External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
