Two of Bollywood’s most versatile actors Bhumi Pednekar and Taapsee Pannu are currently busy with the shooting of their next film Saand Ki Aankh in Uttar Pradesh. The actors are playing the roles of two elderly women which requires a lot of prosthetic makeup. The heat and makeup did not suit Bhumi and now the actor has blisters all over her face.
Bhumi uploaded the picture of her scarred face but soon deleted it. A source told Hindustan Times, “Bhumi plays the character of Chandro Tomar, who along with her sister Prakashi (played by Taapsee Pannu), are the oldest women sharpshooters of the world. Bhumi has to undergo three exhaustive hours of prosthetics to become Prakashi every single day and then she is shooting for more than eight hours in the heat of Uttar Pradesh. The heat and the dust and the long hours under the sun made prosthetics react differently on Bhumi and we noticed after shoot one day that her skin has been burning. Bhumi had not spoken about this at all and was continuing to shoot because she knew that we are on a tight schedule”.
A few days ago, the makers released the first look of the film where Bhumi and Taapsee can be seen in aged avatars and guns in their hands.
Saand Ki Aankh is a film on the world’s oldest sharpshooters – Chandro Tomar and Prakashi Tomar. They reportedly took up sharpshooting in their 50s and are called shooter ‘dadis’ for being the world’s oldest female sharpshooters.
With this film, Tushar Hiranandani will be marking his directorial debut. The film is jointly produced by Anurag Kashyap and Nidhi Parmar. It also features Prakash Jha and Vicky Kadian in pivotal roles.
