Actress Shraddha Kapoor has been replaced by Parineeti Chopra in the much-awaited biopic on Indian badminton player Saina Nehwal. Shraddha reportedly backed out of the film due to date issues and Parineeti came on board. Producer of the film, Bhushan Kumar, talked to a daily and confirmed the news. He said the film’s team can’t wait to bring the story of the ace female shuttler in front of the audience and therefore, the decision of having Parineeti on board has been taken. Shraddha hasn’t officially announced anything on the same yet.
Talking to Mumbai Mirror, Bhushan Kumar said that they want to release the film in the year of Olympics. He was quoted by the daily saying, “We want to wrap up Saina by this year-end for an early 2020 release, so going ahead with the project is a decision taken by mutual consent. We are glad Parineeti has come on board for the film. Saina has made every Indian proud and we can’t wait to take her story to the world in the year of the Olympics.”
Shraddha has been extensively training with Saina to bring perfection in her character. She has been investing a lot of time in preparing to look like an athlete on-screen. However, seems like the actress was unable to deal with so much at her plate at this time. She is already working with Sushant Singh Rajput in Nitesh Tiwari’s next, Chhichhore. Post this, she has Street Dancer 3D, a Remo D’Souza’s dance film with Varun Dhawan. Shraddha also has to start gearing up for the release of Saaho with Prabhas.
Meanwhile, Parineeti’s next film Kesari, with Akshay Kumar, is releasing on March 21. The actress has got a brief role in the film. She has also got Jabariya Jodi with Sidharth Malhotra hitting the screens on July 12.
