Actress Sameera Reddy, who’s expecting her second child, recently talked about being body shamed by trolls on social media. Sameera was present at an event when she talked to the media and expressed her mind on the people who question her ‘not being so hot’ today as compared to when she made her film debut in the industry.
Sameera said that she has a question for all those who body shame her during pregnancy. She said, “I want to ask people, who indulge in body shaming, you have also taken birth through your mom’s body, right? And after giving birth, did you ask your mom, is she still hot? Body shaming is very wrong and disgraceful.”
Sameera took actress Kareena Kapoor’s name and said that everyone can’t look as hot as she looked after giving birth to Taimur Ali Khan. She said, “Pregnancy is a natural process. And not many people can be like Kareena Kapoor, who can look hot even after giving birth. I am very happy with my figure and enjoying my pregnancy.”
Earlier, while talking to the media at another event, she expressed her surprise over the news of her pregnancy leaking out. She said, “Gosh! How did you know? I have not told a soul yet. But now that you have called, yes, let me tell you the truth that I’m carrying for the second time. I’m four months pregnant. This is a planned baby. It is one of the reasons why I have refused quite a bit of work in the recent past. Akshai and I wanted to have the second baby in 2019. My due date is in July.”
Sameera got married to businessman Akshay Varde in the year 2014. She had her first child the next year, in 2015. It was quite a hush-hush wedding for Sameera as she got married within 10 days as per Maharashtrian wedding rituals. She always maintained that she never wanted to get married to someone from the film industry.
Sameera is known for her work in films Maine Dil Tujhko Diya (2002), Plan (2004), Musafir (2004), Taxi No. 9 2 11 (2006), One Two Three (2008), Race (2008), and De Dena Dan (2009) among others.
