If there’s one pair Hindi cinema lovers are always waiting to see on-screen, it’s that of Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. The two actors enjoy a great fan following and create hysteria everytime they come together both on and off the screen. This time, the responsibility of bringing these two together seems to have been taken by filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The director of the films like Padmaavat, Bajirao Mastani, Devdas and Guzaarish among others, is working on a new story which is about the friendship and animosity between two men. The film is expected to be on the lines of Saudagar, a 1991 film, which featured Dilip Kumar and Raaj Kumar in the leading roles.

A report in DNA quoted a source close to the director revealing that the filmmaker is working on a story in which his two heroes turn friends from foes to fight a common enemy. The source said, “Sanjay is contemplating a subject like Saudagar, in which Salman and Shah Rukh play friends who have a fallout and become sworn enemies, only to let bygones be bygones towards the end of the story to re-unite against a common enemy and for greater good”.

The source added, “However, he’s being utmost cautious that it’s not seen as inspired from Subhash Ghai’s 1991 superhit starring Dilip Kumar and Raaj Kumar”.

While there’s no official announcement on the same, both the actors have already expressed their desires to work with Bhansali in his next. In fact, Salman has said earlier this year that he has given his nod to work in the director’s film and the project is in its scripting stage. He said, “Yes, I am doing Sanjay’s film. I don’t know much about it. Have only heard a one-liner about it. But Sanjay is not answering my calls. Please ask him to speak to me”.
