Rumours are doing rounds that actors Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan will be coming together for filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s remake of a 1952 movie. Sanjay has been missing from the movie scene for some time now, and when it was reported that the Padmaavat director’s next will be a love story with Salman Khan starring in it, there have been many speculations about it.

The remake is said to be of Baiju Bawra, a 1952 film that had been directed by Vijay Bhatt, and which had starred Meena Kumari and Bharat Bhushan. Rumours also started doing rounds that actress Priyanka Chopra has been chosen as the female lead, though reportedly Salman had some hesitation working with her following her last-minute exit from movie Bharat.

A report in FilmFare had stated that Sanjay had announced on his birthday, which was on February 24, that his next movie would star Salman, and it also revealed that the filmmaker was in a dilemma as who to have as the leading lady.

It was also reported that Sanjay has registered two titles with Indian Motion Pictures’ Association (IMPPA), with the first being Dil De Diya Inshallah, and the second Pyaar Ho Gaya Inshallah.

Another report that was made by Times Now, while quoting Bollywood Hungama, was that Sanjay has also registered the titles Baijnath, Baiju, and Baiju Tansen for remake of cult classic Baiju Bawra, a movie that will bring together the two big Khans.

Though none of the reports have been confirmed, Salman and Shah Rukh have starred together in a number of movies namely Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Karan Arjun.
