Actress Shilpa Shetty, her sister Shamita Shetty and her mother Sunanda landed in a spot of trouble after they were threatened with court by a man who loaned her father Surendra Shetty money. Parhad Amra, a proprietor of an automobile agency, has claimed that Shilpa’s late father had borrowed Rs 21 lakh from him with the promise to pay it back with interest in January 2017. Shilpa and her family have denied the allegations.
According to a report in Mid-Day, Shilpa said she has had no involvement in her late father’s business, and the man concerned was spreading false information.
“I have had no involvement in my late father’s business ever and have no knowledge of the financial dealing of the company at all. This gentleman is misleading the media. I knew him in the capacity of our family car mechanic, that’s all,” Shilpa said.
The report also said that Parhad had claimed that he was told Sunanda and her two daughters were Surendra’s partners and that they knew about the transaction, but after his death, they denied they had any knowledge about the loan and are refusing to repay it.
Shilpa’s family are set to take up the matter with the Metropolitan Magistrate Court, and the hearing will take place on January 29.
Meanwhile, Shilpa, who is known as a fitness icon in the Hindi film industry, has said that she will be launching her health app in a couple of months. She is also currently a judge on Sony Television’s reality show titled Super Dancer Chapter 3.
