Filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s Simmba featuring actors Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan is unstoppable at the box office. The movie minted Rs 11.78 crore on its seventh day taking the total collection to Rs 150.81 crore. Simmba is Rohit’s eighth film to enter the coveted Rs 100 crore club. With no major release today, chances are high that the movie will continue to rule the ticket window. Rohit-Ranveer collaborated for the first time and gave a perfect ending to 2018. The box office numbers were shared by trade analyst Taran Adarsh on social media.

Taran took to the micro-blogging site Twitter and wrote, “#Simmba roars and scores at the BO… Crosses ₹ 150 cr mark in Week 1… Glowing word of mouth has converted into footfalls… Fri 20.72 cr, Sat 23.33 cr, Sun 31.06 cr, Mon 21.24 cr, Tue 28.19 cr, Wed 14.49 cr, Thu 11.78 cr. Total: ₹ 150.81 cr. India biz. SUPER HIT.”

Simmba is Ranveer’s fourth Rs 100 crore film. It has special appearances by Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar, that has added to the entire buzz. The good word-of-mouth combined with an effective promotion is working in its favour.

Earlier, IANS quoted Ranveer as saying, “As an artist, I have always wanted to entertain audiences, at the same time offering something new to them with every film, with a constant endeavor to push myself to evolve as an actor.”

On a related note, Sara made her Bollywood debut with Kedarnath opposite Sushant Singh Rajput. Ranveer is gearing up for the release of his another film, Gully Boy with Alia Bhatt. The movie is directed by Zoya Akhtar and the trailer will be out on January 9. It is all set to hit the screens on February 14. He has also signed Karan Johar’s Takht.
