Today, Sonakshi Sinha is celebrating her 31st birthday and needless to say, she has carved out a niche for herself in the Hindi Film Industry. Sonakshi was born on June 2, 1987, in Patna into a Maithilis Kayastha family. She is born in the family of legendary actor Shatrugan Sinha and Poonam Sinha. She made her Bollywood debut opposite superstar Salman Khan with Dabangg. Her performance in the film garnered much love appreciation from the audience. She instantly rose to fame after Abhinav Kashyap’s directoral was released. Her crackling chemistry with Salman Khan left us all impressed.  Since then, she has acted in many movies and has even given us some memorable on-screen characters.

Her most notable performances, include Rajjo Pandey in Dabang, Sukhmeet in Son of Sardar, Pakhi Roychowdhury in Lootera, the protagonist in Akira and journalist Noor Roy Chowdhury in Noor. Sonakshi. She received critical acclaim for her portrayal of a woman suffering from tuberculosis in the romantic drama Lootera for which she received a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress. In fact, many of you may not know this that Sonakshi started her career as a costume designer and had designed the costumes for films such as ‘Mera Dil Leke Dekho’ in 2005. She then, made her acting debut in the 2010 film Dabangg. The movie became the highest-grossing film of 2010 and ultimately emerged as an all-time blockbuster.
