The makers of Kalank have revealed a new poster. This time, the film’s team has introduced Sonakshi Sinha‘s character named Satya Chaudhary. A bindi on the forehead and sindoor in her middle-parted hair, Sonakshi looks radiant on the poster. The actress shared the picture on social media and described her character as someone who stands for ‘love, longing and sacrifice’.
Sonakshi posted the image on Twitter and wrote, “Love, longing, integrity and sacrifice… this is what SATYA stands for. #womenofkalank #kalank @duttsanjay #AdityaRoyKapur @Varun_dvn @aliaa08 @MadhuriDixit @abhivarman @ipritamofficial @karanjohar #SajidNadiadwala @apoorvamehta18 @foxstarhindi @DharmaMovies @NGEMovies” (sic)
This is the second poster from Kalank revealed today, on March 8. Earlier, Alia Bhatt‘s introductory poster was shared by the film’s team. The actress plays the character of Roop in Kalank and the poster had her donning a bridal look. The only poster that now needs to be revealed is that of Madhuri Dixit. She plays the character of a courtesan in the film and it would be interesting to see how her look is different from that of her iconic look in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Devdas.
The other actors playing important roles in Kalank are Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjay Dutt and Alia Bhatt. The film, directed by Abhishek Varman, is produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. While announcing the film earlier, the filmmaker had announced that the story of Kalank was conceived by his late father and he feels grateful to be able to take it forward by adapting his imagination on screen. He took to social media a few days and wrote a lovely post explaining how much Kalank means to him.
His post read, “A film that was born in my heart and mind 15 years ago….a film I passionately believe in…the last film my father worked on before he left us….it was his dream to see this film come through….I couldn’t fulfil his dream then….my spirit was broken….but today his wish has found a relationship with celluloid….the story of turbulent relationships and eternal love has found a voice….the film has been woven, nurtured and visualised by ABHISHEK VARMAN….and the film Is KALANK! Set in the 40’s but it’s heart lives on…..TOMORROW the journey begins…..am excited …anxious and emotional about this one…I do hope you join us on our path to undying love…..#KALANK.” (sic)
