Actor Sonam Kapoor says that she and the rest of the team of Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga aren’t hiding the subject of their film from the audience. The actor is all out to promote the film and during an interview with a portal, she said that they are trying to normalise every kind of romantic relationship. She said that the Indian audience is not as regressive as most people think. Sonam went on to say that ‘being gay is a non-issue’ and the same-sex relationship is normal is what her film showcases.

In her media interaction recently, as reported by in.com, Sonam said, “We are not hiding anything, everything is out there for everybody to see. But once we start labeling things and labeling situations then it becomes an issue. Being gay is a non-issue, it’s absolutely natural and normal.” She added, “Why should I reveal the plot of any film? We are not hiding anything, everybody can see what is in the trailer. I am just saying why we should label anything. It is a lesson that is being told that there is no difference between any love in this world.”

Mentioning that we should not see Indian society in any negative way, the actor said, “Actually we’re misunderstanding and not understanding that the audience is way more intelligent and way more receptive than we think they are. The people of India are not as regressive as much as we think they are.”

Sonam is seen playing a woman in the film who falls in love with another woman. However, she has to deal with society’s unworthy questions about her relationship. Sout-star Regina Cassandra is seen playing Sonam’s love interest in the film. Also featuring Anil Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao and Juhi Chawla in important roles, Ek Ladki Ko Dekhta Toh Aisa Laga is slated to hit the screens on February 1. The film is directed by debutant Shelly Chopra Dhar.
