Actor Tiger Shroff starrer Student Of The Year 2 is going to end its first weekend at the Box Office. After opening at Rs 12.06 crore, the Punit Malhotra-directorial went on to garner Rs 14.02 crore on its second day at the ticket window. This is higher than the opening day but lower than what was expected from the film. Student Of The Year 2 is the debut film of two lead female faces in it – Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria. A lot of buzz was created among the audience with the introduction of the two girls. However, that didn’t completely seem to have got translated into numbers at the Box Office. Now, the collection on Sunday isn’t expected to add much into the moolah considering it’s the day of the IPL 2019 Finale match.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh mentioned the same factor in his tweet as he revealed the latest Box Office figures of Student Of The Year 2. The tweet read, “#StudentOfTheYear2 witnesses growth on Day 2, but lacks the appreciation for a solid jump… Mumbai, Delhi, NCR plexes performing better… #IPL2019Final today [Sun] will hit biz, evening onwards… Fri 12.06 cr, Sat 14.02 cr. Total: ₹ 26.08 cr. India biz. #SOTY2” (sic)

Student Of The Year 2 has received mixed reviews from the critics. The film targets the youth and has been promoted well among the school and the college-going audience. It’s the second part in the popular franchise by Dharma Productions. The first part – Student Of The Year, was released in the year 2012 and launched three big stars in Bollywood – Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt.

Student Of The Year 2 has also emerged as the second highest Box Office opener for Tiger Shroff after Baaghi 2 that earned Rs 25.10 crore on its first day. The film has registered the fifth highest opening for a Hindi film this year. The top name on the list is Kalank at Rs 21.60 crore, followed by Kesari at Rs 21.06 crore, Gully Boy at Rs 19.40 crore and Total Dhamaal at Rs 16.50 crore.
