There was a lot of hue and cry that followed cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul’s controversial comments on Karan Johar’s chat show Koffee With Karan season 6, and the two even faced disciplinary action, and the episode had to be taken down. Following the heat they faced, some came to the defence of the two, and one of them was actress Swara Bhasker, who took to Twitter to share her opinion.

After the two were suspended by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the Committee of Administrators (COA) requested the Supreme Court of India to look into the matter. Swara’s tweet was a reaction to the court being involved for what she termed as a ‘crass comment’.

Karan has so far not said anything about the controversy surrounding the statement Hardik made about hooking up with multiple women. The cricketer has however apologised for his remarks, saying he got “carried away by the nature” of the show.

“After reflecting on my comments on Koffee with Karan, I would like to apologise to everyone concerned who I may have hurt in any way. Honestly, I got a bit carried away with the nature of the show. In no way did I mean to disrespect or hurt anyone’s sentiments. Respect,” he had said in his apology.

Both Hardik and Rahul were banned from the three-ODI series against Australia and told to go home, and the BCCI had, in a statement said, that the two would be barred “from playing any form of cricket after their comments on a TV show”. The statement also said that the All-India Senior Selection Committee will soon name their replacements for the ODI series against Australia and the tour to New Zealand.
