Actor Kareena Kapoor Khan was recently present at an event as the UNICEF celebrity advocate where she spoke about child’s immunisation. The actor has a two-year-old son Taimur Ali Khan and she is looked up to for her role as the mother. Kareena made sure she utilised her stature as a celebrity mom when she talked about the importance of vaccination. The actor revealed that when Taimur was born, her first question to the doctor was how could she protect her child from the diseases. The glamourous Poo of Bollywood said she wanted to be sure she knew everything that could protect her child’s life and future against all ailments.
As she stood to inspire the young moms around, Kareena said, “When I delivered Taimur, the first thing I asked the doctor was that how do I protect him from Pneumonia, how do I protect him from the hundreds of diseases that I have been hearing of and when he presented me with the immunisation chart, I held on to it. I knew this is what it is going to take for my child to be alive.” The actor added that it’s her foremost duty as a mother to ensure her child is safe and she’s doing all in her capacity to give him a healthy life.
Kareena also praised others who took the initiative of educating parents about the significance of immunisation and children’s health. She said young mothers need the most education and she was glad that many people volunteered to help others be aware of their child’s good health. Kareena was quoted saying, “It is great to see how so many radio jockeys across the nation worked tirelessly to educate, engage and spread the message of our campaign, to make people understand the importance of children’s health, immunisation; especially to young mothers.”
On the work front, the actor is gearing up for the release of her next film with Dharma Productions, titled Good News. She has been featured with Akshay Kumar, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani in the film. Kareena plays the role of a woman who’s facing difficulty in having a baby with Akshay’s character.
