Action movie Uri: The Surgical Strike is still performing well at the box office and is expected to cross Rs 150 crore by the third weekend. The Vicky Kaushal movie has already earned Rs 125 crore on day 13 after touching Rs 100 crore on day 10. The film, which is a fictionalised account of the retaliation taken out by the Indian Army for the 2016 Uri attack, also stars Yami Gautam, Kirti Kulhari and Paresh Rawal.

Written and directed by Aditya Dhar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala under the banner of RSVP Movies, the movie attracted a good number of viewers. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted out the numbers the movie has made so far.

The film, which was released on January 11 and had received positive reviews from critics, follows Major Vihaan Singh Sherghil of the Indian Army, who played a leading role in organizing the strike.

Vicky had earlier commented on the movie in an email interview with IANS, saying that the film is based on an incident that left a deep impact on every Indian, and that the surgical strike is an event that “we all are proud of”.

“Even the youth knows what happened, so do the elders. It just happened two years back and we all saw it on TV or read it in newspapers and we were affected by it. This film just shows what happened behind the closed doors and how it all happened, how it all took place, all teams came together and all of that. That’s Uri for you,” he had stated.
