Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania’s much-awaited Veere Di Wedding finally hit theatres last Friday. Thanks to great word of mouth, the film is doing quite well at the box office. In the opening weekend, the film made Rs 36.52 crore becoming one of the highest opening weekend grossers of the year. The film also beat Alia Bhatt’s Raazi and secure the fifth position in this list. After a slight drop on Monday, the film continued its momenturm at the box office as it earned Rs 5.47 crore on Day 5.

With this, the five-day total of Veere Di Wedding now stands at Rs 48.03 crore. The film will easily hit the Rs 50 crore mark today. Talking about the fifth day collection of the film, Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter and wrote, “#VeereDiWedding is going STRONG… Will cross ₹ 50 cr mark today [Wed; Day 6]… Fri 10.70 cr, Sat 12.25 cr, Sun 13.57 cr, Mon 6.04 cr, Tue 5.47 cr. Total: ₹ 48.03 cr. India biz.”

Post success of Veere Di Wedding, Sonam Kapoor said, “”I am feeling amazing. I think it is a great validation for female actors, producers and women in media. If it is a good commercial film, it doesn’t matter if the lead is a man or woman. The obvious biasness against women is completely not necessary.
