As the news about rape accused actor Alok Nath, acting in a movie, started doing rounds people all over the Internet started agitating. However, keeping her cool on the issue, writer and director Vinta Nanda, who has accused him of rape, gave IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan‘s return to India more importance over the #MeToo issue.
“I don’t know what to say. When I heard about this ironical casting my mind, my heart and soul was with Wing Commander Varthaman Abhinandan. I couldn’t keep my eyes off the television screen because I wanted to see him as he stepped on Indian soil today,” Vinta told IANS emotionally.
According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, the actor will be seen playing the role of a judge in the film titled Main Bhi. Reacting on the same, Vinta said, “This piece of news about Alok Nath acting in a film is irrelevant and has no effect upon what is actually going on in my heart.”
Saying that her mindspace was currently occupied with the violence at the border, she asserted, “I’m praying for peace and wishing that the Almighty grants us a non-violent universe. I can’t think of anything else at the moment.”
Vinta had accused Alok Nath of raping her two decades ago and registered a complaint against him in October at the Oshiwara Police Station for sexually assaulting her. Earlier, she was evidently disturbed by the pre-arrest bail granted to him. Stating the possibility that he has falsely been enrobed in the crime, the court took the decision to grant him bail.
Vinta had said then that though she respected the decision of the Court granting Alok Nath anticipatory bail and believed in the law of the land, culprits like Nath had denied the allegations against him like any other culprit. According to her, Alok Nath had tried to mislead the court by cooking up stories, which were completely false and untrue.
