Actress Divyanka Tripathi has spoken out on the ongoing Tanushree Dutta sexual harassment issue. The actress, popular for her role in Star Plus‘ hit show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, is of the opinion that Tanushree should seek legal help because the laws for the safety of women in our country have become more stringent today as compared to 10 years back.

Tanushree has received legal notices in the matter from both actor Nana Patekar and filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri. The actress has alleged that while Nana tried to get intimate with her on the sets of his film, Vivek talked to her inappropriately during the shoot of her film, Chocolate. Denying all the allegations, the filmmaker also tweeted a press release stating that Tanushree’s claims against him are ‘false, frivolous and vexatious’. The release also asks the media agencies to refrain from reporting anything against the filmmaker without evidence.

Now, when Divyanka was asked to comment on the matter, she told Spotboye, “I hope if she’s harassed, she’s taking a legal route as it’s been ten years and protection of girls is being taken more seriously now”.

Meanwhile, even National Commission For Women (NCW) has also received a complaint in the matter supporting Tanushree. Talking about the same, NCW chairperson, Rekha Sharma, mentioned to Mid-Day that the investigation in the case will begin today, October 5. She said, “The complaint was received at 4 pm yesterday. The investigation will begin today. It would be advisable if the victim backs the complaint to expedite the process”.
