Ranveer Singh, who has wrapped up Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy, is currently shooting for Rohit Shetty’s directorial, ‘Simmba‘, which is one of the most anticipated movies of this year. The masala entertainer also stars Sara Ali Khan in the lead role and is backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. The film is slated to release on December 28, this year.
After Rohit Shetty’s film, the actor has Kabir Khan’s film titled ’83’, which is a story of India’s first Cricket World Cup Win. Now, the latest we hear is that Ranveer has been brought on board for an untitled film, which will be helmed by filmmaker Maneesh Sharma, who has earlier worked with the actor in films like Band Baaja Baraat and Ladies vs Ricky Bahl.
Maneesh Sharma, whose last onscreen outing was Shah Rukh Khan starrer FAN as a director, has roped in Ranveer Singh for his next, which will reportedly be a musical drama. In a statement to DNA, a source informed, “This is Ranveer and Maneesh’s third film together, after Band Baaja Baaraat and Ladies vs Ricky Bahl. It’s a love story, but also a musical drama. Ranveer Singh will play a musician in the film. The source further added, “The film is expected to go on floors next June.” With this forthcoming film with Maneesh Sharma, Ranveer will go back to the banner, which launched him in Bollywood — Yash Raj Films.
On the professional front, the actor has sure got a stunning line-up of films – Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Gully Boy’ with Alia Bhatt, which will hit the big screen on February 14, 2018, and a biopic on celebrated Indian cricketer, Kapil Dev, titled ’83. Watch this space for further updates.
