Fondly known as one of the original Khans of Bollywood, actor Sanjay Khan has come out with an autobiography. Titled quite interestingly as The Best Mistakes of My Life, the book trails the journey of one of the celebrated actors of the golden era in Hindi cinema. Apart from his stint on the big screen, Sanjay Khan made an impact on Hindi television with his popular show, titled The Sword of Tipu Sultan. In fact, the entire experience of the actor while on the sets of the TV show remained quite an unforgettable one. For the uninitiated, Sanjay Khan had suffered major burns due to fire that broke on the sets of the show. Right from his Bollywood debut in 1964 with Chetan Anand’s Haqeeqat to this tragic incident that shook his fans, his autobiography reveals it all.
The trailer of the book was launched by Khan’s son, actor Zayed Khan, on Twitter. The Main Hoon Na star made an emotional post while sharing the YouTube video link of his father’s book and wrote, ” Growing up, dad’s stories inspired me, made me laugh & cry. Overwhelmed that the world gets to read them now. Proud to present a glimpse of a life, loved & lived in the trailer of #SanjayKhan’s #TheBestMistakesofMyLife”. Watch the trailer here:
The book traces Sanjay Khan’s fantastic career in Bollywood, gives glimpses of his filmography and onto his big transition to television with the epic show The Sword of Tipu Sultan. As can be seen in the trailer itself, The Best Mistakes of My Life also has moments from the veteran actor-producer’s life that were life altering – from the big fire at the Tipu Sultan set where he suffered 60% burns to a near-fatal helicopter crash. Notably, post the massive fire mishap, Khan spent 13 months in hospital undergoing 73 surgeries.
If this trailer is anything to go by, then the autobiography is bound to be a fantastic read as it pens down the stupendous journey of one of the original Khans of Bollywood.
