Sridevi‘s sudden death on February 25 left the whole world in a state of shock and despair. The first female superstar of the country drowned to her death in a bathtub in Dubai. It’s been over two months since that unfortunate incident, but friends, family and fans are still finding it hard to come to terms with this harsh reality.
The actress was, needless to say, one of the best, talented and versatile actors that the Indian film industry ever had. She did several films across many languages such as Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi. Now, over the last few months, reports of Sridevi’s husband, Boney Kapoor, making a documentary in the memory of her life and career, have been doing the rounds. As per a report in Deccan Chronicle, Boney has even filed a few titles for registration, which includes Sri, Sridevi, Sri Ma’am among others.
A source close to the development was quoted by Deccan Chronicle as saying that, “Boneyji is serious about making a film on Srideviji and hence he has registered these titles. He is also keen to acquire other films that she has worked in and has registered the titles of those films too. Films like Chaalbaaz, Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, Jaanbaaz, Mr India and even titles like Return of Mr India have been registered by Boneyji recently.”
In March, National Award winning director, Hansal Mehta had revealed during an interview that he wanted to approach Sridevi for a film and that he regrets not having done that sooner. However, he concluded that although he won’t ever get to work with her, doesn’t mean that he can’t make a movie on her. He admitted that he may just approach Vidya Balan to play the part.
