Karan Malhotra the director of upcoming film ‘Brothers’ had watched the original movie ‘Warrior’ about two and a half years ago. After watching the English version he remembers telling Karan Johar of making it in Hindi too with a Bollywood tadka. ‘Brothers’ movie is an emotionally charged one where the Indians could connect to.
Later on the director discovered that Lionsgate, the official producer of ‘Warrior’ was coming to India and was looking for an adaption of the original version. You could hear Sidharth Malhotra speaking about his character in the film. Sidharth who is playing the role of Monty Fernandes is not from an army background. But he wants to prove and make a space within the fighting world and above all, he wants to prove that to his father (Jackie Shroff) and brother David Fernandes (Akshay Kumar). The 2 brothers have a different vision. Karan Malhotra wanted something different for Bollywood. The stunt coordinators understood that this movie is going to be a dramatic one. So as per the Indian society mindset, the stunts are choreographed. The surprising part is, Jacqueline Fernandez who would be playing the role of Jenny Fernandes in the film, has not watched the original film yet. She now thinks that watching the original version might have helped her to bring her own take to Jenny. Akshay Kumar, Sidharth Malhotra and Jackie Shroff carry a lot of emotional burden in the film. Apart from fight there is a lot other things that you would see in the journey of ‘Brothers’.
