CBFC To View Deepika Padukone’s Padmavati This Week?
The decision on Padmavati nears.
After Deepika Padukone starrer Padmavati‘s release date was deferred, the controversy seems to have fizzled out to some extent and there hasn’t been much news of it for quite some time now. After being knocked by the CBFC for its historic discrepancies and for exhibiting the film for media personalities before the Censor Board, makers of the film have been in jitters with its certification. And so, a revised version of the film was been readied and the film’s application was submitted again on November 28.

“The new application is very consciously worded in legalese, and the CBFC is trying to decode the various levels of claims and disclaims in the application about the historic authenticity of the film. This is taking time. But the film will be viewed by the board’s Examining Committee in the coming week, and we will have to organise a panel of historians to examine the content,” a source from CBFC told The Asian Age.
