Coldplay, Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Ranveer Singh and other celebrities to embrace stage at Global Citizen Festival in Mumbai

We know you all are excited with the news of Coldplay finally coming to India to perform at First Global Citizen Festival in India. After the impromptu gig by Chris Martin in South Delhi’s Summerhouse Cafe, everyone was left asking for more from the Coldplay vocalist. Finally, your dreams are coming true and you can be thankful to none other than the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who play a big role in making the concert happen in Mumbai.

According a report published on NDTV, they learnt of a meeting which happened two years ago between PM Modi and Hugh Evans, head of Global Poverty Project. The meeting between the two concluded into India’s much awaited show, scheduled for November 2016. Coldplay, which has been talked by Mr Evans to be the brand ambassador of their global campaign, will be performing at the festival along with other big names from music and film industry.

The British pop band just posted the celebrity line up, who will be sharing stage with them in Mumbai. Looks like the show is going to be a big treat for fans all over the worlds as it is heavily star-studded with names like Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Jay Z. Reports of Ranveer Singh joining the stage along with Coldplay surfaced days ago, and it is confirmed that the Bollywood actor with infectious energy level will deliver a power-packed show, performing on a medley of his song. Bollywood celebrities including Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, and Farhan Akhtar said they would be extending their support to the  social action platform and will also be a part of The Global Education and Leadership Foundation which was launched on Monday evening.

Amitabh Bachchan said, “It is a great honour to see the words of Prime Minister Modi at Global Citizen Festival in New York coming to light with the first edition of Global Citizen taking place in India. It is both a pleasure and honour for me to support this campaign that creates a momentum, connecting individuals globally to work together and bring about change and eradicate poverty.”

Maharashtra being the host for the inaugural Global Citizen Festival in India, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has been supportive in the initiative.
