Yesterday (November 23) the makers of the film ‘Dangal’ released the second song titled Dhaakad. Even though it’s a slow paced song, there is a Dhaakad attitude which is why people just cannot stop praising it. Moreover what left us surprised was rapper Raftaar singing it in full Haryanvi swag. The way the song has been composed and sung, it is going to give you goosebumps. This particular song in Aamir Khan’s upcoming film celebrates woman power and you could clearly feel it when young Geeta Phogat (Zaira Wasim) utters the dialogue – ‘Ladki samajh ke na khel’. Damn! That was such a fearless attitude of a girl who is competing against the opposite sex in the field of wrestling.
With this biopic, Aamir Khan is going to change many mindsets who think women are weaker (in terms of physical strength) and specially when it comes to fight against men. At times it is also about mind games. The song Dhaakad shows that even women are equivalent to men. This song should in fact be an anthem to women’s empowerment. The relation of father-daughter in this film is shown strong and fierce when it comes to wrestling. How a daughter is getting closer to success by battling in the akhaada is what we see in the song. There are moments of absolute joy when Mahavir Singh Phogat’s (Aamir Khan) daughter Geeta pin a lad down on ground. Their mutual goal to win the gold medal at Olympics for the country is something makes each one of us feel proud.
Every beat and every word of the song ‘Dhaakad’ has a powerful meaning. It is also motivating for every other girl that they are strong and can achieve their goal in such fields as well. The parents who might hold back their girl child from such kind of sports can learn so many things from the living legend. It wasn’t an easy way out for Mahavir Singh Phogat but his dream was fulfilled after all the efforts he put in for his daughters Geeta and Babita. After ‘Dhaakad’ we are wondering what will his next song be about. There is so much of excitement all around amongst movie lovers to watch ‘Dangal’ which looks hatke from other mainstream films.
