MSG: The Messenger of God box office collects Rs 100 crore?

Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insan’s controversial movie MSG – The Messenger also known as MSG: The Messenger of God has apparently made Rs 100 crore at the box office in India. The controversial Baba or Saint has made a smashing Bollywood debut, or so it is being projected by his followers!

The Indian Express reported that MSG: The Messenger collected more than Rs 89.29 crore in its first six days at the box office. But now official statements without substantial box office figures are being sent out claiming that MSG has grossed Rs 100 crore.

Earlier, The Times of India had made a fake news story in its Mock Tale section saying MSG had collected Rs 500 crore. That would’ve meant it has crossed the worldwide box office collections of Aamir Khan’s films Dhoom 3 and PK! It remains to be seen if MSG will finally end up making that much money; even with millions of followers of the ‘Saint’, it seems highly unlikely.

MSG: The Messenger released in five languages in India – English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.
