Legendary actor Dilip Kumar has very much been in the news after being admitted to the hospital on multiple occasions. A few weeks ago he was admitted yet again to Lilavati Hospital for severe chest congestion and was released a few days later. It was reported that the actor was being treated for recurrent pneumonia, however his wife, veteran actress Saira Banu, has rubbished the reports, saying he was suffering from a cold.
Apart from denying that Dilip is suffering from pneumonia, Saira also said that the actor is at home where he is recovering from the cold.
“He is fine and is at home. Someone has started this rumour that he is having pneumonia but there is no such thing. He is just having a regular cold and fever. He is at home and recovering,” Saira told Zee News.
The actor had been admitted to the hospital last month too, after he suffered mild pneumonia. Faisal Farooqui, who tweets on behalf of the thespian, had confirmed that Dilip was suffering from chest infection.
His tweet had read: “Saab has been admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital as he was bit uneasy due to a chest infection. He’s recuperating. Requesting your duas and prayers.”
Dilip is one of the most respected and talented actors of Hindi cinema, having acted in movies like Naya Daur (1957), Mughal-E-Azam (1960), Ram Aur Shyam (1967), Gunga Jamuna (1961) and Devdas (1955).
