It is like a dream come true for actress Prachi Tehlan, who made her acting debut with Hindin TV show Diya Aur Baati Hum. The young actress is now gearing up for her big break in the movies. She will star opposite none other than Malayalam superstar Mammootty in Sajeev Pillai directorial Mamankam. Talking about the same, an excited Prachi said, “Yes, I am doing a film with Mammootty sir. It’s the biggest Malayalam film ever being made. The shoot has started. I can’t reveal much about the film but it’s a wonderful experience to be a part of such a big project and my first in south,” Tehlan told IANS.

Prachi made her film debut with director Manduip Singh’s Punjabi film ‘Arjan’ opposite Roshan Prince. She was also seen in the lead role in ‘Bailaras’ opposite Binnu Dhillon. And now, she will play the female lead in Mamankam. The film is set in the 17th century and based on the medieval fair by the same name, which was celebrated every 12 years from 800 AD to 1755 AD.

Earlier this year, Mammootty got hurt while shooting for the film. He plays a warrior in the film and the incident happened when a scene was being re-shot to make it more perfect that earlier. Thankfully, it was a minor injury and Mammootty could continue shooting of the film which is based on the medieval fair Mamankam, which is held at the banks of Bharathapuzha in Tirunavaya. It is said that soldiers from all over the country used to come together to wager battles and combat.
