Actor Shah Rukh Khan is away from acting for a while now. He was last seen in Aanand L Rai‘s Zero with Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif. The film bombed at the Box Office and SRK has not greenlighted any acting project since then. But, seems like this trying time is going to be over now. After a lot of rumours and media reports, popular filmmaker duo, Raj and DK, has confirmed that Shah Rukh has given a nod to their next film but it’s upto him to ‘announce’ the project.
In their latest interaction with Mid-Day, the director duo said they were working on their ‘favourite’ script and they held on to it for a long time. Raj and DK added that the film is not a conventional drama but ‘resonates’ with the kind of out-of-the-box appeal that they bring out through their work. “It is our favourite script that we have held on to for a long time. We met him and discussed the script. He enjoyed the universe that the film belongs to. The story has elements that resonate with us,” they said.
The duo said that the actor is currently trying to sort out his dates for the project and they are waiting for everything to settle down before they finally take the film on the floors. Strong speculations suggested that the team is beginning the work by the middle of the year. However, Raj and DK refused to divulge more details about the project.
The duo is most popular for helming the first mainstream zombie drama of Hindi cinema – Go Goa Gone. Along with the yet-to-be-announced film with SRK, the two are also working on the second part of the Saif Ali Khan starrer. Shor In The City, Happy Ending, 99 and A Gentleman are their other notable works. They also wrote the story and screenplay for Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree.
