Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Half Girlfriend’s box office stint is dwindling significantly after the film didn’t fare any better over the weekend as compared to the weekdays. Friday’s score of just Rs. 1.76 cr were disappointing. Saturday and Sunday could only take baby steps to reach Rs. 2.01 cr and Rs. 2.35 cr respectively. Compared to the previous weekend of Rs. 32.04 cr when the film had higher aspirations, weekend 2 was contrasting with only a Rs. 6.12 cr of business done.

Sachin: A Billion Dreams’ release was a whack on the legs for the Mohit Suri film as it barely stood a chance next to the cricket craze of the nation. Docudramas generally aren’t known to rattle the box office but Sachin’s flick in contrast is bagging wads of cash by the minute with Rs. 27.85 cr in the sack in three days.

Half Girlfriend’s reviews proved to be a stumbling block as reflected at the box office. Speaking of which Arjun Kapoor told a leading media portal,” Each individual has a different point of view and I am no one who will change their opinion. Most of the time people (critics) want to see a certain type of film, but I feel, people should watch a film with an open mind just the way the audience watches it.”
He further added, “The audience is more open to giving the film space and time to enjoy what it is meant for rather than having preconceived notions. I feel the audience is the most important part of filmmaking because, at the end of the day, you are making a film for them and not for a limited bunch of people who call themselves critics.”
