It was only in March this year that Akshay Kumar had agreed to play the role of T-Series founder Gulshan Kumar. The film was to be titled Mogul and was expected to be on the list for T-Series’ line up of films for 2018. The film was going to be produced by T-Series, with the subject being very close to the heart of Bhushan Kumar, son of Gulshan Kumar. Akshay had posted: He had posted, “My association with Him began with my very first film. He was The Emperor of Music. Now know His story… #Mogul, The Gulshan Kumar story!” However, as per latest reports in a leading entertainment portal, Akshay might just not be doing the film anymore.

The report suggests that Akshay Kumar has backed out from doing Mogul, a film he signed up for earlier this year. The superstar apparently had reservations regarding the film’s screenplay which is exactly why he chose to not do the film. The biggest hint of this news came when T-Series released its line up of films to be released in 2018, and the film that would be the biopic of the founder of the company which was expected to be on the crowning jewel was nowhere to be seen. Seemingly excited, Akshay had earlier said while signing for the biopic, “I had the good fortune of knowing Gulshanji well and had a close association with him right from my first film Sugandh in 1991. We shared many things in common and come from a similar background. I am very excited to play him on screen.” Keep following this space for more updates.
