Vikas Kumar, who is a well-known Haryanvi singer, has slapped a legal notice to the makers of upcoming Bollywood film tilted Veere Ki Wedding for breaching Copyrights Act. Kumar alleged that the song ‘Hat Ja Tau’, that features popular Haryanvi dancer Sapna Choudhary, in the film, has been originally crooned by him and is being used without his permission. Since the song has been used in the film without Kumar’s knowledge, his lawyer has stated that the makers will have to seek an apology from Kumar and also pay him Rs 7 crore as damages.
In a statement, the lawyer said, “They’ll have to seek apology from Vikas Kumar, pay him Rs 7 crore as damages and not use the song without his permission. If they don’t do this, civil and criminal action will be taken against them after a week. The dancing queen Sapna Choudhary sizzles in Veerey Ki Wedding’s Hatt Ja Tau song and her typical dance moves will make you wanna groove too. The song ‘Hat Jaa Tau’ has been sung by Sunidhi Chauhan, while the music is composed by Jaidev Kumar. ‘Veerey Ki Wedding’ is slated to hit the screens in March, this year.
