Farhan Akhtar‘s last film, Rock On 2 didn’t manage to impress the critics and the masses, but looks like the actor is all set to get back in the game, as he plays a boxer in his next. Yep! Mohit Suri, who last directed Half Girlfriend, which was also not appreciated by the masses has already started prepping for his next film. According to a report in DNA, the filmmaker has couple of concepts in mind, but he wants to make a film on the script that he has written about father-son relationship, with boxing as the backdrop. And Farhan is said to be on board for this project. In fact, the actor has also started his preps, and is building his body. The report further suggests that Farhan will first play a son, and then a father to a young child. We are excited!
Mohit says, “Goldie (Behl) and I approached Farhan recently with my script on a father-son relationship. He really liked it. I need another actor for the role parallel to Farhan, when he plays the son. The story is close to my own relationship with my father, except that the film has boxing as its backdrop. I was eight when my mother passed away, and my father raised me on his own. The story is about the struggle he faced as a single dad at 36.” ALSO READ: Shraddha Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar link-up: Actress has no time to commit to a relationship
Mohit, who is on a break after Half Girlfriend is going to the US, and will start work on this once he returns. “Farhan and I spoke about the script, and he thinks it’s brilliant. On June 23, I will go to the US for two weeks and start my next project when I return,” Suri was further quoted.
When Farhan played Milkha Singh in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, he nailed it. And now that he is playing a boxer on the big screen, we cannot wait for the film to go on floors. Mutual thoughts?
