Avengers: Endgame is now the second biggest film at the worldwide Box Office as it trails behind only one film – Avatar. The big superhero film has also found its entry into the Rs 300 crore club in India and has become the only Hollywood film to have crossed this benchmark in the country. Avengers: Endgame has collected $2.189 billion globally so far, while Avatar earned $2.788 billion in its lifetime run at the Box Office. This is fantastic considering the Marvel biggie has many more days ahead to become the biggest grosser ever at the World Box Office.
In India alone, the film earned Rs 290.90 crore by the end of day 9 at the Box Office. Yesterday, day 10, took the film to cross Rs 300 crore. The official figures for yesterday are yet to come in. However, here’s the Box Office breakup of Avengers: Endgame in India till its second Saturday:
Friday: Rs 53.60 crore
Saturday: Rs 52.20 crore
Sunday: Rs 52.85 crore
Monday: Rs 31.05 crore
Tuesday: Rs 26.10 crore
Wednesday: Rs 28.50 crore
Thursday: Rs 16.1 crore
Friday: Rs 12.50 crore
Saturday: Rs 18 crore
Total: Rs 290.90 crore
At the worldwide Box Office, Avengers: Endgame has replaced James Cameron’s Titanic to be at the second place on the list of top biggest grossers of all time. Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Avengers: Infinity War follow Titanic on the list now.
In India, it’s the eighth film in the coveted Rs 300 crore club. The other films that managed to raked in more than Rs 300 crore at the Box Office are PK (2012), Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), Sultan (2016), Dangal (2016), Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), Padmaavat (2018), Sanju (2018) and Baahubali 2 (2017). The SS Rajamouli-directorial, is, in fact, the only film to have earned more than Rs 500 crore at the Box Office.
Avengers: Endgame went on to go past Rs 250 crore on day 7 of its release, Rs 200 crore on day 5, and Rs 150 crore on day 3. The film grossed Rs 100 crore in two days straight. With all the records it’s setting and breaking, Avengers: Endgame doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime sooner!
