You saw how well he performed as a gymnast and aerial artiste and thought he was the deserving winner of India’s Got Talent 6. But after watching this video, you will feel you hardly know the struggle of Manik Paul! His father was killed in a terrorist attack, and he was brought up by his mother who inspired him to pursue his dreams. “I lost my father in a terrorist attack in Assam’s Barpeta Road in 1999. Since then, my mother brought me up with her earning from a tea stall she ran. I always thought that I want to become something and make a mark,” he said.
Manik wanted to join the army, but trained in martial arts, gymnastics and dance instead. And now that he has won the India’s Got Talent 6 trophy, he wants to make it big in Bollywood. Manik also hopes to work with choreographer-filmmaker Remo D’Souza, his idol.
And what did he win as the prize? Manik took home the prize money of Rs 50 lakh and a Maruti Suzuki Celerio car! “I can’t believe that I have won the show. I always wanted to work in the film industry and now I think that I can attain that dream easily with this win,” said Manik.
