The trailer of the much anticipated film, Dhadak is out and we just can’t seem to get over the amazing chemistry between Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter. The young duo has created magic on screen. Fans had been closely following debutante Janhvi Kapoor – daughter of Boney Kapoor and late Sridevi – on social media platforms. They had been waiting to catch a glimpse of her on screen for the longest time. And with this two minute long footage out, seems like the wait has been fruitful. The first trailer of Dhadak, which also stars Ishaan Khatter in his second film but first Bollywood venture, looks absolutely stunning.
Today at the trailer launch, Janhvi’s family members–her uncle, Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor, aunt Maheep Kapoor and cousins were present to support her. It is a day, her late mother, Sridevi, who died due to accidental drowning in Dubai in February. It was her long cherished dream to see her daughter on screen. Today, must be a day of great pride for the entire Kapoor family, and we are certain that Janhvi must be missing her mother a lot on this special day. Well, during the trailer launch today, Janhvi was asked in which way was Dhadak a dedication to her late mother, Sridevi. Hearing this, Janhvi did get a bit teary eyed and was at a loss of words. While director Shashank consoled her, KJo then intervened to divert the discussion.
Dhadak is based on the Marathi film, Sairat. Even though the makers have tried to give the movie an entirely different feel by basing it in Rajasthan and not Maharashtra, the movie is based on the issue of honour killing and has parts that seem very similar to the Sairat. The movie has been directed by Shashank Khaitan, who has given us hits like Badrinath Ki Dulhania and Humpty Sharma and bankrolled by Karan Johar. The film is slated to release on July 20, 2018
