Actor John Abraham, who is basking in the success of Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran and Satyameva Jayate, is on roll with many offers coming his way, and the most recent offer has him all excited. The actor has been in talks to star in the sequel of Sarfarosh which starred Aamir Khan. John will be reprising the role of Aamir in Sarfarosh 2 and the actor is all praise for the latter, saying he would be honoured to do the role.
In an interview to Hindustan Times, John, who is currently busy shooting for Robbie Grewal’s espionage-thriller Romeo Akbar Walter (RAW), said, “John (Matthew Matthan, director) met me and said, ‘Hey, I need a younger character for Sarfarosh 2. Are you interested in doing it?’ I was more than happy, and then I decided to produce it, too. I had a lot of faith in John.”
John further said that he has not spoken to Aamir about the sequel, but the director has been in touch with the latter.
“I didn’t chat with Aamir. John and he have been talking. I am sure he’s got Aamir’s blessings to do this. Aamir is someone I am deeply fond of, and I’m a big fan of his. It’s an honour to be stepping into a role that has such a big history,” John said.
Not one to rest on his laurels, John is already looking forward to his next venture, though biopics are out of the picture at the moment.
“Everybody tells me that this is the trend, which is exactly the reason I am not doing it. I don’t necessarily need to do what’s trending at this point of time,” he said.
